TTL “through the lens” loupes
TTL loupes stand for “through the lens” loupes and are also known as ‘front mounted’ loupes. The optical barrels (oculars/magnifiers) are actually mounted into the lens of the loupes, based on the users individual pupillary distance and working distance measurements. TTL loupes are fixed at the steepest angle of declination possible to allow the user to achieve the most ergonomic posture possible.
Every human face is unique and complex, and so your TTL loupes are bespoke, custom made to fit the complex characteristics of your face. As such these loupes cannot be separated from the frame, modified or shared with other members of your team as they are unique to you.
TTL loupes have multiple benefits over flip-up loupes. In summary TTL loupes are lighter in weight and bulkier when compared to flip-ups because there is no hinge mechanism. TTL loupes are bespoke to match your inter-pupillary distance (the distance between your eyes). The main benefit of TTL loupes though is closer positioning of the inner loupes barrel to the eye, which gives a greater field of view. However, this also means that when reaching for instruments your peripheral vision is significantly reduced.
We have three types of through the lenses (TTL), the standard, the HD and the HiMag. The standard TTL is a high quality and affordable TTL suited to all type of magnification work from dentistry to dermatology offering magnification up to 3.5x. The standard gives 180mm field of view and a depth of field of up to 200mm. The HD TTL offers a better resolution and clarity image, as well as a wider filed of view and depth of field relative to the same magnification as the standard series, The HD loupes barrel area giving better viewing over the optic and the whole unit is lighter weight.
